WHY CANVAS AND CLAY?

I wanted one address on the internet—a home for all my creative projects but with a single identity.

Finding a suitable name was no mean feat. We played around with several ideas and concepts until we were satisfied with Canvas and Clay.

The concept of a single house with many rooms is Scripture inspired from the gospel of John. I wanted to create a single website on the world wide web where the visitor becomes a friend who feels at home and has fridge rights.

The concept of canvas and clay has a double meaning.
One is a physical structure made of canvas and clay. The narrative in the book of Jeremiah inspired the second interpretation. God is the Potter, and I am the clay.

Clay needs water, a potter’s wheel, and a pair of hands to shape it into a work of art. Only when the clay is centered perfectly on the wheel with the spinning force and the Potter’s hands can a perfectly shaped vessel be created. So our projects are molded and shaped by Godly inspiration and guidance. The canvas is a metaphor for a blank piece of paper—a medium for creating books, photographs, or movies. Stories of hope that inspire.
